Color Options

Colors that match your surrounds like aqua, turquoise, navy, seafoam green, and sea glass paired with neutrals (Khaki shorts) always photograph well and work with nearly all skin tones.  There is something classic about the family of blue colors.  Family beach pictures in navy blue and the complimenting colors to that tone are always a winner. Such as adding a pop of coral or pink for the little girls dress. You can keep it monochromatic buy keeping everyone in shades of blues, or bring in the color with pinks! If you are having a sunset session, lavender, magenta or orange always look nice.

White will wash your out against the sky. Do not wear white tops. White is beautiful and crisp and clean, but save it for a accent color or your accessories.

Bare is Best

Bare feet and booties! The beach is for minimal Everything. Little ones turned from the camera sitting on a beach towel with just a little bootie shinning….is there anything cuter?

Shoes required? NONE.

Fabrics that flow such as cotton or linen photograph very well on the beach. Long dresses that just blow in the wind are a beach outfit staple.

Beach Tips

  • Wear outfits that hide tan lines! Strapless dress are very cute for the beach, but make sure you get that tan in a week before your session!
  • Style your hair and your little girls hair in an up do. The beach is Windy, there is nothing worse than looking Amazing and then having your little girl pull out her bow because the wind keeps blowing her hair in her face.
